April 17, 2009 - Regional Training Program in Salt Lake City, UT – details to follow, look at regional training programs on the FEW web-site as well. NEWSLETTER and other Information: 1. Our Chapter Board provides one $1,200 scholarship to be awarded for the NTP. The Chapter Board provides two $100 scholarships to be awarded for the RTP. E-mail or call any of the officers listed above for details. 2. FEW Foundation Announces RTP Scholarships I am pleased and proud to announce that FEW's Foundation for Education and Training will fund one scholarship to each region's annual Regional Training Program, beginning immediately. The scholarship is for registration/tuition fee only due to limited financial resources. Since most regions offer a scholarship program, the Foundation would like for the regional scholarship committees or appropriate selection officers to make the selection and notify Patricia Wolfe at wolfepatriciam@aol.com and Foundation Treasurer Marie Argana at jellomga@comcast.net. Marie will then issue a check to the Region for the appropriate amount. We would just ask for a brief statement and a digital photo from the scholarship recipient and the opportunity to put a flyer in your conference bag or a no-cost ad in your program book. All too often, FEW members have to choose between the RTP and the NTP if they receive funding at all, so we wanted to use this opportunity to offer financial assistance to FEW members and encourage attendance at our outstanding regional training programs. We know that Great Lakes and Mid-Atlantic Regions are having their fall training programs very soon, so we would ask that they distribute this information to their members as soon as possible. For other regions, please let us know the dates and the tuition costs for your programs. We will be preparing one or more articles for upcoming issues of News and Views and posting announcements on both national and foundation websites in the days ahead. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or need additional information. Patricia M. Wolfe, President
